Join Artist Edica Pacha, Arts Martin Acres co-founder Leah Brenner Clack, and the women who participated in Martin Acre’s Orenda Project for a wheat paste installation and reception at Martin park.
Event will begin with the installation of six wheat paste art installations in the shelter area and follow with an informal social gathering. Please join us to celebrate the women and our community of Martin Acres!
As a community, Martin Acres is poised to infiltrate art into many layers of our neighborhood. From new murals along the Bear Creek path, to garage door art, street art, art installations in public space, the Martin Park pavilion… the possibilities are amazing. A City of Boulder Neighborhood Enhancement Grant (NEG) is funding the first phase of Arts Martin Acres which includes a Martin Acres Neighborhood Arts Plan and two mural installations that will be completed in Fall 2017.
Community input is key for the creation of a Martin Acres Neighborhood Arts Plan, a plan that can guide future art projects if there is volunteer capacity and community funding. We seek to identify:
1. Types of art that are desired by our neighborhood
2. Community priorities based on types of art opportunities
3. Neighborhood values and descriptions that will be incorporated in the creation of the art installations themselves - and will create continuity between different art projects.
WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
Drop in anytime between 11 am and 1 pm! We will have multiple stations and maps for you to provide input on arts opportunities, locations, and vision! We will also have a kids station with art supplies.
Please send any questions to artsmartinacres@gmail.com.
